This pit safety and maintenance station encompasses all elevator code requirements for safety and lighting devices within the pit. The design further controls movement of the elevator by others while workers are present in the pit, it also incorporates Oil & Water Alarm monitoring to further enhance flood safety and environmental cleanup. PitSafe® utilizes fail safe switches and circuitry to insure against component failure. The PitSafe® combines activating the pit lighting and elevator pit stop switch simultaneously virtually eliminating entry into the elevator pit without taking the elevator out of service. However, the elevator pit stop switch may not have been activated to take the elevator out of service, allowing the elevator to unexpectedly descend and cause serious injury or even death within the pit.
